Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - I was searching for a new job and the hunt began 8 months back(August 2020). I started searching for a new company who can pay me better than my current one. I had spent around 2 years in my current profile in the same company and we all know how appraisal an MNC provides these days.

I was aware of the fact that, if I will starting searching for a job with the same knowledge then I won't get anything. I had given five interviews just to know what companies are looking for in my role. I realised that apart from cloud companies are looking for someone who has knowledge about on-premise technologies as well.

Only Mobile device management is not sufficient so companies are now hiring someone who can manage desktops/laptops are well. I was in an environment where I was only managing mobile devices.
I started learning about new technologies as well like Windows AutoPilot as well.

The next 5 interviews were better than the last 5, however, I didn't get selected. The year 2020 ended for me without getting a new job.
The very first week of the new year I got a chance from Wipro. The interview was nice and the panel was also great but, I couldn't get selected. I attended few more interviews (8-10) from January 2021 till March 2021 but failed again and again.

Now I decided that I go for some Microsoft certification and started learning. I also decided I will also stop the "Job Search Mission" for 1-2 months and will take a break.
I opened Naukri to deactivate my profile and take a break but before doing so, I checked who viewed my profile or contact. A noticed a recruiter from Wipro has viewed my resume, profile, contact and has also bookmarked my profile. I was now ready for the call. This time I decided that I will have to get selected at any cost.
I don't know what worked this time but I got selected. The first telephonic round then the Technical round then the Managerial or Project Interview and then the HR discussion too.

I narrated this story just to prove one point that job switch is now a process. First of all, we have to realize that what we know is not sufficient enough. All of us who are working in IT Industries will have to upgrade ourselves like an Operating system. If we are not upgrading then we are not ready for change and in today's world change is the only constant thing.

So never lose faith in yourself, never give up. Keep trying, keep learning because learning is life. :)
