A Design Engineer was asked 6mo ago
Q. What is a circuit breaker, and can you provide a real-life example?
Ans.

A circuit breaker is an electrical switch designed to protect an electrical circuit from damage caused by excess current.

  • Circuit breakers automatically interrupt the flow of electricity when a fault is detected.

  • They are commonly used in homes to protect electrical circuits from overloads or short circuits.

  • A real life example of a circuit breaker is the one found in a circuit panel in a house, which trips when too ...

A Design Engineer was asked 6mo ago
Q. What is Ohm's Law?
Ans.

Ohm's law states that the current flowing through a conductor is directly proportional to the voltage across it, given a constant resistance.

  • Ohm's law is represented by the formula V = IR, where V is voltage, I is current, and R is resistance.

  • It is named after German physicist Georg Simon Ohm.

  • It is commonly used in electrical engineering to calculate current, voltage, or resistance in a circuit.

  • For example, if a c...

An Intern was asked 8mo ago
Q. What does a stress-strain diagram look like?
Ans.

A stress-strain diagram shows the relationship between stress (force applied) and strain (resulting deformation) in a material.

  • The diagram typically starts with a linear elastic region where stress is directly proportional to strain.

  • After the elastic limit, the material enters the plastic region where it deforms permanently.

  • Finally, the material reaches its ultimate strength before failure occurs.

  • Examples of stres...

Q. Explain Ohm's Law and the basic relationship between current and voltage.
Ans.

Ohm's law states that the current flowing through a conductor is directly proportional to the voltage applied across it, with resistance as a constant factor.

  • Ohm's law is expressed as V = IR, where V is voltage, I is current, and R is resistance.

  • It can also be written as I = V/R or R = V/I.

  • For example, if a circuit has a voltage of 12V and a resistance of 4 ohms, the current flowing through it would be 3A (12V/4oh...

An Embedded Firmware Co-op was asked
Q. What are the different ways to generate PWM from a processor?
Ans.

Different ways to generate PWM from a processor

  • Using hardware timers

  • Using software timers

  • Using dedicated PWM modules

  • Using pulse-width modulation libraries

  • Using direct register manipulation

An Embedded Firmware Co-op was asked
Q. Timers in different microprocessors
Ans.

Timers in microprocessors vary in features and implementation.

  • Timers can be used for various purposes such as generating interrupts, measuring time intervals, and controlling PWM signals.

  • Different microprocessors may have different types of timers such as basic timers, general-purpose timers, and advanced timers.

  • The number of timers, their resolution, and clock source can also vary between microprocessors.

Why are women still asked such personal questions in interview?
I recently went for an interview… and honestly, m still trying to process what just happened. Instead of being asked about my skills, experience, or how I could add value to the company… the questions took a totally unexpected turn. The interviewer started asking things like When are you getting married? Are you engaged? And m sure, if I had said I was married, the next question would’ve been How long have you been married? What does my personal life have to do with the job m applying for? This is where I felt the gender discrimination hit hard. These types of questions are so casually thrown at women during interviews but are they ever asked to men? No one asks male candidates if they’re planning a wedding or how old their kids are. So why is it okay to ask women? Can we please stop normalising this kind of behaviour in interviews? Our careers shouldn’t be judged by our relationship status. Period.
