I applied via campus placement at Ramrao Adik Institute of Technology, Navi Mumbai and was interviewed in Jan 2023. There were 3 interview rounds.

Round 1 - Aptitude Test 

75 question overall. It was pen and paper test containing Mcqs. Total 3 section of 25 questions each containing aptitude, basic electronics, embedded c programming & c++ programming ques.

Round 2 - Technical 

(3 Questions)

  • Q1. Asked about Opamp, zener diode, power amplifiers, reverse voltage circuit diagram, question on project in the resume.

  • Ans. 

    Designed and developed a smart irrigation system using IoT technology.

    • Used sensors to measure soil moisture, temperature, and humidity.

    • Integrated the data with a microcontroller and programmed it to control the water flow.

Disappointing Interview Experience with D.E. Shaw
I recently interviewed with D.E. Shaw, and it turned out to be one of the most draining experiences I’ve had. The interviewer’s approach felt unnecessarily harsh and dismissive, which made the entire process uncomfortable. At multiple points, the interviewer asked me to drop off the call, even when I tried asking basic questions about the designation, job description, and other details. After the interview, I found myself sitting there for a few minutes, trying to process what just happened. It left me questioning the overall tone and professionalism of the interview. Definitely not the experience I was expecting from such a well-known firm.

It was general aptitude, all the questions were about the fundamental of engineering.

Group discussion was conducted for the candidates who were not in the top 10 of the 1st round aptitude. prepare for the general topics, more than knowledge about the topics your communication is very much important.
