Round 1 - One-on-one

(3 Questions)

  • Q1. Tell me about yourself..
  • Q2. How's your previous experiences..? What's you strength and weakness..?
  • Q3. What understanding do you have of the role and what are you expectations..?

Interview Preparation Tips

Interview preparation tips for other job seekers - Be clear on your thoughts about the role and expectations from it. If you do not know about it yet then please do ask either before or during the interview in a palatable manner exhibiting an inquisitivenenss. This may sound a little too early but trust me that helps shape your interview tone and confidence as well. Prepare well on what is mentioned in your CV/resume which is on the table for prospects. Make it easy for the interviewers to understand about you and how you will suit as an acceptable candidate.
Most likely it will start with sharing something about you. This is the most crucial part of as it has the capability to set the tone. It should be taken up as crisp overview about self which will help the employer to know about you and also to ask more in the direction they wish to explore. A word of caution here, this should not be very speechy as in taking too much of time, in terms of duration 2 mins is good enough. Highlight a little of background, skills, workex, learnings & such things out of which more insight can be received.
Then comes taking points from CV/resume, which has to be prepared well both conceptually and practically. Usually a good interview is where a healthy discussion is tabled on both sides, there are lot of questions and answers at the same time which is not merely QnA... rather a forum to build an understanding of each other as a propective employer and employee. Also, prepare a few questions to ask, needless to say its about your query which you would like to get an understanding of, if you do not have any thats absolutely ok.
Few questions like:
- strenghts & weakness
- where do you see yourself down the line let say 5-10 years
- hobbies and likings,
- techincal questions (expected) etc. is also recommended to be prepared, especially for those who are freshers. Clearity on academic question is always a plus, so may give it a brush up.
Do lots of mirror practice, it will help to give a view on where apparently there is a scope for improvement. For those with habit of self talk it should come around easy. People who feel comfortable talking to strangers kind of feel this process natural.
At times it happens that there is a question we do not know an answer to, for this take a pause think of an answer if nothing clicks better to accept that its not known instead of beating around the bush.
In qualitative terms, be open to discussion, have a lit up face, smile is a plus, be gateful about the interview and time which is devoted and do take a light meal which keeps you energetic during this time.
Most of all be a part of process and fare the best inside.
