Round 1 - Resume Shortlist

Round 2 - Aptitude Test 

Aptitude was based on C prog, Math, English, RDBMS. It was fairly hard.

Round 3 - Group Discussion 

Common topics like Social Media Boon or Bane, Unemployment in India, Work-Life balance in today's times were given. Prep time of 2 min and the GD went on for 20 min. 15 min of pitching in points and 5 min of conclusion. There were 2 HR people making notes on you. Be confident in whatever you say.

From my personal experience, people who took initiative and spoke first were likely to get selected. Speaking clearly and conveying your points is given priority, rather than making valid point.

Disappointing Interview Experience with D.E. Shaw
I recently interviewed with D.E. Shaw, and it turned out to be one of the most draining experiences I’ve had. The interviewer’s approach felt unnecessarily harsh and dismissive, which made the entire process uncomfortable. At multiple points, the interviewer asked me to drop off the call, even when I tried asking basic questions about the designation, job description, and other details. After the interview, I found myself sitting there for a few minutes, trying to process what just happened. It left me questioning the overall tone and professionalism of the interview. Definitely not the experience I was expecting from such a well-known firm.
