A Hardware Engineer was asked 6mo ago
Q. What is the unit of resistivity?
Ans.

Resistivity is measured in ohm-meters (Ω·m), indicating how strongly a material opposes electric current.

  • Resistivity (ρ) is defined as resistance per unit length and cross-sectional area.

  • Common units: 1 Ω·m = 1 ohm × meter.

  • Conductors like copper have low resistivity (~1.68 × 10^-8 Ω·m), while insulators like rubber have high resistivity (~10^13 Ω·m).

  • Resistivity varies with temperature; for example, the resistivity...

Q. What is a semiconductor?
Ans.

A semiconductor is a material that has electrical conductivity between a conductor and an insulator.

  • Semiconductors are used in electronic devices like transistors, diodes, and integrated circuits.

  • They have a band gap that allows them to conduct electricity under certain conditions.

  • Common semiconductor materials include silicon, germanium, and gallium arsenide.

A Hardware Engineer was asked 9mo ago
Q. Describe the circuit theory problems you were asked to solve.
Ans.

Circuit theory problems involve analyzing electrical circuits using laws and theorems to find voltages, currents, and resistances.

A Trainee was asked
Q. Write a program using pointers.
Ans.

Pointers in programming are variables that store memory addresses, allowing for efficient data manipulation.

  • Pointers can be used to dynamically allocate memory. Example: int *ptr = (int*)malloc(sizeof(int));

  • They can point to arrays, enabling easy traversal. Example: int arr[] = {1, 2, 3}; int *p = arr;

  • Pointers can be used to pass large structures to functions without copying. Example: void func(MyStruct *s);

  • They c...

Why are women still asked such personal questions in interview?
I recently went for an interview… and honestly, m still trying to process what just happened. Instead of being asked about my skills, experience, or how I could add value to the company… the questions took a totally unexpected turn. The interviewer started asking things like When are you getting married? Are you engaged? And m sure, if I had said I was married, the next question would’ve been How long have you been married? What does my personal life have to do with the job m applying for? This is where I felt the gender discrimination hit hard. These types of questions are so casually thrown at women during interviews but are they ever asked to men? No one asks male candidates if they’re planning a wedding or how old their kids are. So why is it okay to ask women? Can we please stop normalising this kind of behaviour in interviews? Our careers shouldn’t be judged by our relationship status. Period.
