=> First, stay calm, professional, and polite. Second - and this part is absolutely critical -
STAY CALM, PROFESSIONAL, AND POLITE. Find out what they don't like about 
your solution - maybe it's too expensive or complicated. Maybe you suggested an 
emergency stopgap “stop the bleeding” temporary solution (nailing plywood over a 
smashed-in door), when they were looking for a more robust permanent one (install 
a new door).
When you understand why they don't like what you've proposed, see if you can 
resolve their concerns - perhaps a modification to your solution, perhaps a different 
solution. Perhaps their concerns are based on fear or misunderstanding, and you can 
help them get past that.
At some point, though, you will have a situation where the customer rejects the only 
solution possible, for no logical reason -”we don't want to do that, you need to solve 
this another way” with no further explanation. Talk through it - try to get them to 
understand that if they want to get from New York to Chicago in under four hours, 
they have to fly, and wishing there was a high-speed train won't make one magically 
appear.
If they continue to demand another solution despite calm assurance that no other 
solution is possible, calmly, professionally, politely tell them that they pay you to 
give the best advice you can possibly give, and you've done that, and there's nothing 
more you can say.
• Always be calm and polite.
• Always share the honest response with yous customer.
• Speak in soft tone to deal with this situation.
• Forward their request to higher department if they ain’t agree with your 
response.
• Smile is the best tool to end such conversations.
