Round 2 - Technical 

(1 Question)

  • Q1. Questions from power system , power electronics & electrical machines
Round 3 - Aptitude Test 

Puzzle solving , rearrange the words etc .

Round 4 - Group Discussion 

In the group discussion our topic was that about a plane crash in jungle . Some of the people are alive . Then we have to discuss about what to do - 1. move to nearest village or 2. wait for rescue operation.

Round 5 - One-on-one 

(1 Question)

  • Q1. There was around 7 or 8 respected gentlemen from CESC in the interview board . They asked about some family question and some technical question.

Round 2 - Aptitude Test 

A total of 100 questions to be solved in 100 minutes. 20-25 questions from Aptitude and remaining questions from domain knowledge. Topics (Aptitude) = Anagrams, Data Interpretation, Time and work, etc. (i can't recall any more) (Domain Knowledge) = Transformer, basic electrical engineering, circuit breaker, power electronics

Round 3 - Psychometric Test 

(1 Question)

  • Q1. Large number of figures will be drawn on a piece of paper and you will be asked to circle the occurences of a particular figure. Counting how many times a letter repeats in a given sentence.
Round 4 - Group Discussion 

A situation will be given, followed by a question. You have to discuss about the best possible solution to that question.

Round 5 - Technical 

(2 Questions)

  • Q1. What will happen if u apply dc voltage on a transformer
  • Ans. 

    Applying DC voltage on a transformer will cause no current to flow through the transformer due to the absence of changing magnetic field.

    • Applying DC voltage on a transformer will not induce any current flow as there is no changing magnetic field to create electromagnetic induction.

    • The transformer will not be able to step up or step down the voltage as it requires alternating current to work properly.
