Round 1 - Aptitude Test 

I am from an NIT. L & T came on campus in our college around september.
Students were shortlisted on the criterias like CGPI>6 .Number of students shortlisted from our branch were 40-50.
Then we gave the test . In the test there were two parts
1)Aptitude and
2)technical part.
There were total 130 question as I remember. 90 question of aptitude (quant ,English, Reasoning) and 40 questions from your technical part . Time for the test was 2 hours. Question were easy to moderate ,no complex calculations or out of the box thing.In the technical part maximum questions were from machine and power system , also a little part of basic electronics.
From our branch 10-15 students qualified for next round i.e. interview.

you just need to do your basic aptitude and two subjects(Electrical Machines and Power System) because every core company asks from these subjects . I will say Electrical Machine should be your top priority.
If you know these subjects well for e.g. up to GATE level you can easily crack any core company's interview
