Interview Preparation Tips

Round: Test
Experience: In the technical written test, there was a paper on C programming. it had general C questions which were of the type>find the output, error etc there was another paper of Data Structures which had some theory type question and some output finding questions there was a paper on Operating System which had 20 questions. all were theory type questions the entire paper was objective type paper.

Round: technical interview
Experience: In the technical interview , i was asked about my project and questions related to it.i was also asked general C based questions. another question was about polymorphism. i was asked how to define a pointer to a function.

Round: hr interview
Experience: I was asked why did i came to warangal and not study in some engineering in my state of domicile. i was asked if i am comfortable working anywhere in india. my hobbies and my involvement in team activities were asked.

General Tips: I was confident in the entire procedure and that made a difference. I answered every question with confidence even where i may have had doubts. In the end i got through and it made a difference. also another thing i would like to add is that the written test was conducted by some external agency on behalf of HP.my suggestion is that prepare C and OS well. and be confident while facing the interviews. clearing the written is the difficult part but once the written is cleared; it all depends on how well you can communicate your ideas to the interviewer.

Total Questions: 25

Round: Test
Total Questions: 25

Round: Group Discussion
Experience: after written test is cleared they divided the people into groups and send them to gd. after giving the topic hr went out of the room so as to give time for us to think about the topic.he gave five min then one guy started and told that tobacco should be totally banned as it causes severe damage to the health, two more joined him. other guy started telling that it shouldn't be banned as it effects the economy of our state so instead of banning it we have to make aware of people about the effects it makes.after few minutes i started telling that instead of banning tobacco and instead of not banning tobacco and making awareness in them better choose after alternatives like gutka etc such that only the person who takes it gets spoiled not all others around him unlike cigarette which effects the people around the person who takes it.and now make aware in those people who take gutkas etc.... in this way my argument started and gd went for about 25min.... and finally out of 8 he selected 4....
Duration: 30 minutes

Round: Interview
Experience: in his section firstly i was a bit nervous.... once i entered into the room the panel board sir introduced himself and asked me about myself and normal qus lik how is ur day etc and made me tension free... and then he started asking me qus... he started from c language... i told that im not from computers back round so im not that good at programming languages so he asked basic languages in c lik what is the differences between for loop and while loop, what is structure, pointers and asked me to write a program to print the prime numbers(which i couldn't do it properly)...after that he asked me about my project and asked what do u think is the difference between an IT company and a mechanical manufacturing company...he asked qus in my project and also in my industrial training.. i answered them very well by which he was very impressed though i didnt ans programming qus well...finally he asked you are not good at programming languages but u are good in ur subjects if i hire u how can u cope up... then i told that if u hire me now i still got 1yr time to join in ur organisation, so 1 yr time is more than enough for me to learn c, c++, java... then he directly told that u have cleared this section and now u can attend HR round...

Round: Interview
Experience: this section was very cool... once u are through technical round then its almost very simple to get through this round.. in this only general qus were asked like tell about yourself, about your family, why should i hire u, why did u opt hp,wat do u know about hp are u ok wit the pay....etc... al that needed in this section is only perfect and spontaneous and impressive ans...without any panic or confusion.... this round went for 10 mins

General Tips: i had great experience wit hp.... firstly i thank all the people who selected me.....power point was at 10 in the morning and results were announced at night 11.. so the total 13hrs went very tensed...but then i had a great time with HP...al the process went very perfectly....panel board members are very free they made the interview environment very free by which i could able to put my talent before them....but at last im in HP..
firstly for aptitude wat i say is r.s.agarwal is much than enough for getting through try to solve as many problems as u can and do perfectly.... coming to hr for computers people its better they go a bit deeper into their subjects... but for others is better to have an overview and basics of programming languages and perfect in their subjects...wat ever u ans ans perfectly, confidently....of all this u must have gods grace
