Promotions are on hold at all levels for 2 years now. Even the top performers with A band not getting promoted and salary hike is 2-4%. All this in the name of difficult market conditions, meanwhile CEO getting near to 30% hike, hypocrisy much? Is TCS management turning away from famed TATA ethics?

Likes

Good work culture and provides the opportunity to learn multiple skills and to work in various domains. Great place to gain more knowledge both technical and business concepts.

Dislikes

Salary package is very less compared to the market standards. Employee benefits are not given much importance for the associates who stays longer in the organisation. A good organization for freshers to hone their skills but not for everyone.

Very helpful during a pandemic. Work depends upon the project. Work culture is good mostly but again depends on the team.

Pay is less compared to the market or competition. People who stay here for a long time are paid less compared to market.

TCS is government like company. There are many projects and many domains. If we have good relations, we can jump between projects or accounts. Sometimes lucky enough to get into good domain or get into project to enjoy without doing much work.

Dislikes

1. Appraisal system is biased 2. Slow growth in terms of career and salary 3. Most of the projects will have internal politics and will not allow to grow 4. Most of the project try to utilize within projects and will not plan for career growth 5. No proper guidance for career growth 6. Roles and grades are not aligned 7. There are no role promotions and there is no JD for roles 8. The appraisal goals are absurd not relevant to project or role, mostly they are carry forward from previous cycles. If the goals are achieved, why they carry forward every year?

Very stingy management Employees get only salary but no goodies, team lunches or sponsored celebrations. Laptops given are poor in condition to many and warranty of the laptops are not tracked properly. Employees are forced to pay for any damage even for a 2 year old laptop
