Indian Railway job working culture is best. My job as a outsourcing staff in Enquiry_Computer Display terminal_update train arrival information_working hours as a rotaion 8hrs shift.

Third party pay roll_contractor not regular deposit epf contribution in employee epf account.

Job security 100%. Career Growth Good, Salary applicable for central Government, whole system work, Work life busy being involvement of safety, Proper training is done for technical and operational employees. Railway is open for innovation and ready to adopt the latest technology after full proof testing.

Dislikes

Most of the job are related to safety of passengers , the responsibility become much more than any other department. In feild, Even after your duty hours, you cannot leave your place without telling to some one who is related with him.

One of the corrupt organisation in history of india. It looted common people and salary gives to the officers only who are posted junior there benefits go on vein.

...torious staff and made him dependent on railways job he have no way to leave it. Juniors are getting very low as officers got 5 to 20 fold salary of juniors but there work is very poor even cbs, CMI/CCI even write a letter to officers just copy it forward it the officers. Seniors only know how to exploit this junior employee by not giving proper rest leave holiday leave etc

Railway never compromise with the safety of passengers. Never compromise with SOP ,quality of materials & maintenance of equipment. Jobs security is good.

Dislikes

...e joined Sr. Sec. Engineer through out whole service remains as Sr.Sec.Engineer. Salary structure is bad.

1. No work life balance (Saturday is not offs & an employee is expected to be available 24 hrs on duty), 2. No growth opportunities especially if you join at a particular Post (SSE), 3. Very poor work evaluation system leading to improper and mostly biased evaluation of employees promoting unworthy employees & resulting in low moral & enthusiasm in most Staff.
