They keep bragging about employee wellness while in reality it's all just on papers, they do not even provide gym or other fitness related facilities or reimburse the costs, all the do is invite some expert who will just do the talking on a teams call and at best do se breathing exercises, which I find useless and is just there to tick the employee wellness box in their To do list. There is no work life balance, there are teams which ask to to stretch long hours and there is nothing you can do about it because it's openly written on the appointment letter that you will have to work more than standard working hours when there is a business need.

The compensation paid is only the best thing at EY.

There is no work life balance here. You have to sit infront of the laptop for almost 12-13 hours although you work for only 8-9 hours because EY GDS assists its US counterparts. Moreover, the exit formalities is the one which was very frustrating. It's been more than 65 days and i haven't received the relieving letter and F&F letter.

Bad work culture and worst work life balance. Managers are pathetic and they will make your life difficult. Not a good place to work. This review is specific to Hyderabad GDS Indirect Tax department.

I work for tax team in EY which invest huge time and money on your progress and their learning gives you path to progress in your career and make you more suitable for the industry. Managers have awesome knowledge on the subject matter, work environment is superb and managers contribute to keep it clean and politics free. During busy period work life balance suffers but its not for long duration. EY gives an individual an ample opportunity to prosper and grow.

As of now i would recommend EY to increase the compensation structure and make it more attractive in comparison with the competitors.

Likes

Exposure to complex returns and working with US team. EY will provide to strong learning platform. Specially Tax - Very good exposure to US taxation. Flexible working hours and zero micromanagement. If you're ready to compromise money over learning, EY is better option

Dislikes

Salary is very very low compared to industry. Need to work minimum 60 hrs a week during busy seasons ( also on Sunday for last 3-4 weeks of busy seasons) I think the scheduling [ 1200 to 1500 hrs per annum ] North- south divide and also favoritism
