I like working in Cognizant, I won’t say this is best place to work, but if you are looking for settle or tired of weird culture or any issue. This company is better then those.

...ule, you have do everything that your manager says, to manager and get progress. Variable and Bonus get cut down to 20-30% only. Even if you perform the best.

Dislikes

No promotion, No appraiasal, No recognization, No credits for our efforts. Whatever the position and salary you get while joining, will be the same untill you showcase your efforts and overcome on Politics.

1.) Work Culture is definitely awesome. 2.) Salary and Appraisals - better than it's Competitors. 3.) Recently, They have started prioritizing Employee Well Being, Career Direction and Skill learning Benefits. 4.) Can learn anything on Udemy. 5.) Supported Employees wfh completely during Covid. Have now introduced Hybrid Work Routine which is good. 6.) A lot depends on what Project you are allocated to . I have been to both good (Supportive Team) and a bad Project (Authoritarian Seniors). So it's your luck but whatever you get , try to learn as much as possible. People are mostly helpful and supportive in Cognizant. That's for sure.

1.) Senior Managers are still the worst breed in Cognizant. They are egotistical and do not actually care about Employee's aspirations w.r.t learning and Project Allocations. Again, Not all of them but yes at least few are there who thinks they are the Kings and can command everyone. 2.) If you want to transition to a latest technology , you can always enroll courses but getting that technology's project is almost impossible. Again, IN spite of Company's Policy to promote people if any better opportunity is available within Cognizant, these self absorbed Senior Managers do not want to go through the hassle to allocate the resources as per their wishes. Anyway, Situation is same in every service based company. 3.) If you are in a good learning project, it is possible that your work life balance may get hampered due to shifts and sometimes priority issues but again it is common everywhere. 4.) The Payroll department needs to improve with proactive allocation of shifts pay. I literally had to follow up for a month for night shift amount with them. Had to talk to different managers to get their approval. Such a mess. 4.) I have seen mostly support projects in Cognizant. It could be my experience but in some domains, Cognizant is doing really good.

Dislikes

...huge attrition now. They have increased working hours from 8 to 9 hours per day. In compensation, they increased the annual leaves that employees can avail. In reality, most of the people won't fully utilise that much holidays and even if anyone wants to fully take those leaves, they will say we can't give more leaves as that will affect the revenue estimate for the quarter and billing loss etc.

Promotions,allownces issues,appraisals,internal politics and older people who are sitting and getting high pay,doing nothing,should be released from cognizant they are old mindset persons and not welcoming innovations and not giving chance to grow new candidates.
