...ging projects or people. It’s just that they give you a Manager designation. Your salary and variable component increases accordingly but you don’t get to do any real management work. Udemy is free here, so you may learn if you have time. No one, literally no one from Cognizant will tell you what to do to grow up in corporate ladder. May be the culture has changed recently as I see a lot of old timers leaving the company in herds. There is no employee engagement. Senior management is only concerned about getting status for the work but they don’t engage with employees. At times I feel like I’m a freelancer here. There is no one who you can go to with your problems. Even for simple things like time sheet, people are clueless.

...kill development and learning. Process oriented and people are accommodative. Salary is provide as per the market. Hike is better than other IT service organizations.

Dislikes

Most of the project are in the 2nd shift covering US and UK time zones. Currently the workhour is flexible otherwise it is 10 hours officially.

0 job security. Every quarter there is a list and people are laid off. Managers threaten their team if they dont do work within given time they will be laid off - like literally. Worst company on this planet. For NCR location official working hrs are 9 hrs but manager says you will have to enter 10 hrs only in time sheet and be available as per 10 hrs shift. Also, off records managers says you will have to stretch and work for 24 hrs and weekends otherwise you might be laid off. Never Ever join this pathetic company even if they offer you 100 crores ctc. I have seen 15 years old loyal employees and star performers being just laid off like that. And yeah most importantly - South Indian people driven company, especially Tamilians. They just rule this company, so much regionalism, for north indian people very hard for them to survive

Everything else. No work life balance, underpaid salary, unempathetic management, unrealistic goals, bad upskilling platform, non-reachable HR, politics in performance reviews, no career growth, toxic culture in projects.

Visibility, Growth, Learning scope are very good here. having said all this, again its down to the project you are working in and will vary case to case

Dislikes

compensation to the long timers is not good. Appraisal cycle is from Jan-Dec, but revision is will happen only by the next year October., that too with a very nominal % hikes even for the best appraisal ratings.
