... to recommend about Cognizant. The work culture is transparent and meritocratic. Compensation and benefits are above industry average. It is a fairly flat organization where one can make multiple lateral movements as long as one showcases aptitude for work. You will be challenged and rewarded.

Dislikes

One wishes that Life sciences in Cognizant develops in house AI/ML and other advanced technology based proprietary solutions. Lack of investments hampers expansion.

Work life balance is good but you may not hear good from some pockets due to corona aituation, pls are spending more time else it's good.

HR policies related to Compensation and growth... maximum people in leadership role left only due to this..policy is really sad specially after new leaderahip at top

... One has to spend 9 hrs in office even if the day's target achieved before that. Promotions, Better Salary hikes are decided by Closeness to your Manager No Security of Job. If a project ends then the Onus is on Associates of that project to find appropriate position in some other Project. Although there is a WFM team to help the associates in such scenario but they will just share few mails and conduct some meetings, beyond that associate has to find the new position on their own. But Cognizant is a good place for Sycophants. If one has blessings of some Manager then he/she can get good hikes, time bound promotions, can easily move from one project to another

Cognizant has its strengths, but I feel there's room for improvement in several areas beyond just salary. For me, the overall experience hasn’t aligned with my expectations.

In my personal experience, I have faced challenges with the lack of qualified managers and team leads. For instance, in our team, we work from different locations, and our team lead rarely conducted regular team huddles. Even when I, as a senior, tried to take responsibility and initiate meetings, he would often find reasons to stop or postpone them. Over the course of the year, he connected with the team only four or five times, which was far from adequate for effective team collaboration. Additionally, my manager has been disconnected from the team for over a year. When he first joined during a critical transformation period, he did not take the time to observe the team members' expertise, interests, or long-term goals. This lack of involvement left us feeling unsupported and undervalued. One major concern was the cultural bias I experienced. Being from Chennai and a Tamil speaker, I noticed a clear difference in how I and others like me were treated compared to team members from Hyderabad, particularly Telugu-speaking colleagues. This disparity in treatment created a sense of alienation and made it difficult to feel like a cohesive part of the team.
