If you do not want to work and while away your time shamelessly, then it is the best place. Otherwise, not much to like about the place. It is running on its past glory

There is no equity and a lot of partiality - the goose that lays the golden egg gets slayed There is no calculation of workload and it is unequally distributed (you can be shameless and escape workload)! The employment contracts are on an annual mode and new recruits are not confirmed after probation. Your contract gets renewed after every year (however, the benefits like gratuity are provided on completion of 5 years on contract). The place is grossly understaffed - for about 800 students on campus, you have 15 full time faculty (including those on contract)! The administrative load is killing. There is no transparency on salary, increment... Post appraisal, the HR will claim that your increment falls in the Jan-Dec cycle! And, there is no transparency on the same due to the discretion of the director, SIU officials, and the society (Symbiosis) officials! Students are give the rawest possible deal despite a 28 lakh fees! academics is zilch and a lot of politics go on between the student councils with the tacit approval of the director/ deputy director (recently there was a student suicide). Most statistics that is presented on the website has to be taken with a pinch of salt, as it is calculated for 180 students, while the batch strength is 400!...Read More
