1. Samsung electro-mechanics in Bangalore have some managers and team leads do not know how to speak to juniors. They pressurise juniors so much, they disrespect them and look down upon them if they exceed timelines of a given task. They have no culture of giving any feedback to employees but instead try to demote them with bad ratings saying their work is not satisfactory. Further these managers bring in their relatives and students into the company as employees and get a huge benefit. (not sure of referral bonus in company but would definitely get some from their students.) 2) The managers themselves are not updated on new technologies. They are not open to new ideas and they undermine juniors when they come up with one. They are very orthodox and don't have guts to speak to Korean counterparts. Instead they agree to every work from Korean office and pressurize the juniors and put the blame that its because of them the targets aren't achieved. But in reality they don't have a clue on team management, upgrading themselves with tech and don't have basic sense on how to speak to juniors. It's a sad reality that talented juniors have to suck up with such mediocre managers and finally they leave the company because of the treatment they receive from such managers. Advice to leadership to get rid of these senior managers. It's no good to keep people based on their seniority. They feel extremely comfortable in their positions and have not learnt anything that is valuable for company. Genuine Review of This Company I strongly advise against joining this company due to its extremely toxic work culture Poor management and work life balance. Strict rules for every little things. Here's why: Excessive Working Hours: Despite being labeled as a hybrid work environment, employees are often called to the office every daydue to project dependencies. While the official work hours are 9 hours, the reality is you’ll be working 12-13 hours on average, including weekends. During release periods, this can escalate to 15-17 hours per day without any extra pay or compensatory time off. Lack of Concern for Employee Health: The management shows little to no concern for employees' health. Even when dealing with medical conditions, they expect you to continue working. For example, I once took a half-day sick leave due to a fever, only to be told by the Project Lead (PL) that I must connect and work from home. Toxic Senior Management: Senior employees often display a lack of respect toward juniors, offering no support and creating a mentally taxing environment. The constant pressure leads to resignations, often under duress. Authoritarian Leadership: Managers and Project Leads frequently engage in excessive flattery towards the Korean Managing Director (MD), who treats employees like subordinates. Public meetings often involve verbal abuse and unnecessary shouting, creating a hostile work environment. Unrealistic Expectations & High-Level Politics: The company demands that tasks be completed within impossible timeframes. Failure to meet these deadlines results in scolding and public humiliation. PL don't have knowledge about tech stack he just know how to scold you and make your fun in from of whole team. Strict Timings: Employees must log in by 10 AM. If late more than three times in a month, half a day's leave will be deducted. Strict Working Hours: A minimum of 45 working hours per week is mandatory (8 hours of work + 1 hour break per day). Failure to meet this requirement will result in the deduction of half a day's leave. And like every other company, of you work for more than 45 hours in a week, thats your problem! Hybrid working: 3 days in office 2 days at home (common for all, some team/Employees are forced to come for all 5 days. Work from home policy: Only 1 week work from home is available in each quarter. Now based on this new rule the loop hole was to take eork from home on the last week of the 1st quarter and first week of second quarter together and get 12 days.. but they added a new rule that we should come to office atleast 1 day in between those 2 weeks. (How employee UNfriendly) Transportation: 1. Carpooling: Employees are responsible for arranging their own carpooling, paying for the cab upfront, and navigating a complex and time-consuming reimbursement process. (They did this DELIBERATELY) 2. Vehicle Parking: Free parking is provided for the primary mode of transport (car or bike). However, if you declare a bike as your primary mode and use a car (or vice versa) for more than three days in a month, parking fees will have to be borne personally. (too PETTY) 3. No Fuel Reimbursement: The company does not provide any fuel reimbursement, regardless of the mode of transportation. No joining perks or any sorts of freebies. (Sorry we DONT do that here) Insurance: only 3 lakh rupees. (Just doing it to FOOL the govt) . Very cringy and pathetic attitude towards spending money for GWP activities. Imagine an MNC saying only 2 beers or 2 non-alcoholic drinks are allowed for the year end party.
