If u get a good ML project u can learn a lot as an MLE as most people abv smle don't code much, so u can learn an entire project from POC to production and a lot of new techs to learn, fast-paced learning curve (2-3 years), if u are abv smle then most work is to talk to clients and manage people so more free time.
