The best thing is the work culture of the company and flexible timing. And if you are fortunate then the the best team members and colleagues to work with to help and motivate you in the company.

Dislikes

There is no job security anytime anyone can leave or be removed. The growth of salary and career is quite slow which can be worked on.

Low career Opportunities and no compensation and career growth. Low salary growth too and no respect to the executive. The company management only thinks about the numbers of titles instead of the quality. Every time a new process change disturb the working process the TLS system is ifno use. The management does not prototype the process before bringing it up.This disturbs the whole pipeline and also the work environment.Hope management thinks on it....Read More

I was in the development team for year and a half use to develop the video titles for them, use to talk to other stakeholders author for the content and make sure it get published on the time.

- Good colleagues to work with. - Receiving bonus every 6 months is the best thing. - Also the flexible working hour is a plus point.

Dislikes

- Low to almost NO salary hike. - Only 1 - 2% yearly salary growth is provided for COL (cost of living). - Sometimes I have to work for additional hours and the efforts are not taken into consideration. - NEVER apply for any job role into production category (ie. Layout Coordinator, Graphics Coordinator, Indexer), you will have to work like donkeys. NO SMART WORK, WORKING HARD FOR SIMPLEST THINGS JUST BECAUSE OF THE TOP TEAM ! - Manager does not value unique strengths, so had less growth opportunities. - Too much of favoritism and partiality....Read More

Working at Packt was initially fun until Manager started doing favoritism. Only thing that motivates me to work in Packt is work from home facility and weekend offs.

The only advantage working at Packt is flexi working hours, self learning and opportunity to work with skilled external entities like authors , tech reviewers etc.

Dislikes

There are no career or growth prospects for experienced professionals. Meager pay and unskilled Managers who have never worked with any IT company (including the senior management). Ironically the company neither uses any IT tools for research nor employs skilled IT professionals despite being a knowledge solution provider for the IT industry. That is another reason why managers at any level do not welcome innovative ideas to help improve systems or self learning systems....Read More

It is said that people work for people in any organization. The attrition rate is quite high which validates the above fact because there are no such managers at any level who can provide sensible guidance to executives. Earns you enough to pay bills !

As you get used to the work culture, you will be exploited totally on bases of promotion, to be precise then it's just 15% hike.
