If you work at Packt you won't have a personal life. You'll be forced to work day and night. The work distribution is very bad, some people have very little work and some have alot of work. Honestly, if you are unlucky, you'll get the worst team and alot of work.

The company has a very poor pay for the technical editors and even if you work hard, still you cannot earn a promotion within a years time. Earning a promotion will take more than 1 and a half or may be 2 years and even after getting a promotion you wont get a good salary in the end because the company doesn't expect people to stay here for more than a year. Even if you leave no one will try to stop you and its not the right place to be. Yes you can have a good work life balance but what will you do of such work if you cant learn or earn anything. Also none of the other companies accept experiences of this company as this is a publishing company and no web development or app development jobs will consider your experience from here. People try to be professional here but I think people here are BPO sort of employeess. So I dont recommend this company at all for the one's who are looking for a career in the technical field. The company is falling apart and the restructuring process is an absolute disaster and joke. Senior management has spoken to be completely clueless and incompetence is trickling down, making everyone suffer. Specially those of at the lower level who actually work hard. All the employees were asked to rely for their jobs, but to be honest, this process is joke. Favouritism and buttering is the only thing keeping people in this company it doesn’t matter if you are a top of farmer hitting over hundred percent of your targets every month or if you just got promoted to level three after months of hard work, none of that counts decisions are based purely on personal relationship and who has been buttering up to the top level, managers and leaders performance results and contributions completely ignored. The people who were selected are same and been hanging around for 5 to 7 years in the company, cozying up to the leadership and building personal relationship. Meanwhile, those who actually deliver results and drive, the company forward are being thrown out without a second thought. It’s insulting and demoralising.
