New Job, Higher Pay, Now I’m Feeling Awkward

I’ve been at my new job for about six months now, and everything’s been going great! I’m getting positive feedback from my manager, and I get along well with the team. The thing is, when I started, my salary offer ended up being much higher than the initial number discussed during my interview. I didn’t negotiate and just accepted the offer. So, fast forward to happy hour with the team, and the topic of salary comes up. I, unfortunately, shared what I’m making, and let’s just say... it didn’t sit well with the others who have been on the team for years and make less than me. They weren’t mad at me, but now I’m feeling a bit uncomfortable and unsure how to handle this situation. Has anyone had something like this happen? How did you deal with it? Let’s chat!

Thank you for the review. We would definitely like to improve on the grievances mentioned above. We do cost-cutting so that we have transferred those benefits to the employees. eg. we did 3 picnics last year. We have also introduced a loyalty program where employees who stay with us for 1 year or more will get a bonus of an entire month's salary. We are also introducing leave of choice where at the beginning of every quarter employee gets the credit of 7 leaves which they can use for festivals, personal leave, or vacations. A total of 28 leaves are provided. We have also bought almost 20 courses on Udemy so that our Leaders and Employees can learn from the experts so we can improve our management. I will look into the favoritism part. I appreciate your pointing out the flaws which my company has. I am working on correcting it. One thing at a time. Be blessed. Thank you.
