To begin with, your coarse choice of words to describe the company and its culture thoroughly maligns and misrepresents its image in front of prospective employees. It also comes as a severe blow to those who dedicate themselves to building and maintaining a positive work culture at Merkur. Secondly, in contrast to what you wrote, we have a strict no-tolerance policy for the usage of any forceful methodologies at Merkur India. We have a structured and seamless review mechanism that periodically assesses the performance and productivity of an employee based on specific benchmarks and organisational objectives. Our policies are unbiased, and our employees are solely rewarded on the basis of their merits and initiatives. For underperformers, we extend further support through mutually discussed improvement programs to help them perform to the best of their ability. Despite all efforts, the underperformance might persist, and in such situations, appropriate actions are taken. Of course, legal or disciplinary violations demand instant and critical actions and such cases are dealt with differently. Thirdly, the notion of strict timings being enforced on our employees is absolutely false. In fact, our flexible work policies permit the employees to choose a clock-in time/work window at their convenience, thereby enabling them to complete the standard number of hours per day or week when it suits them best. Had you taken the approach of writing a constructive and detailed review to articulate your concerns, we could have helped you better. Alternatively, you could have used our internal communication channels to reach the right ears in the right manner. Our systems provide multiple ways to make yourself heard - you can speak to your reporting manager, reach out to the HR team or even the top management, for that matter. It’s a company-sponsored transport facility that picks and drops our employees from the nearest metro stations, should they choose to avail it. The vehicles used are company-owned and are driven by company-employed drivers. The purpose of this facility is to provide rapid, stress-free connectivity between the office and the nearest metro stations, especially during traffic-ridden office hours.
