It’s a company-sponsored transport facility that picks and drops our employees from the nearest metro stations, should they choose to avail it. The vehicles used are company-owned and are driven by company-employed drivers. The purpose of this facility is to provide rapid, stress-free connectivity between the office and the nearest metro stations, especially during traffic-ridden office hours. Keeping this in mind, if you have further feedback on the facility’s improvement, we request you to voice your concerns in detail via our internal communication system. However, the second claim, where you’ve pointed fingers at our valuable managers and senior officials, is unsubstantiated and unacceptable. You have gone to the extent of making false remarks about individuals with whom you share a workplace, and that’s highly unethical. You’ve also indicated that the culture at Merkur India is one of bias when it’s anything but. It’s important for you to know that our organisation is built on two foundational pillars – equality and equity (among many others). Therefore, our appraisal and promotional policies are unbiased, and our workforce is solely rewarded on the basis of their merits and initiatives. That said, if an employee outperforms themselves and makes extraordinary contributions, the said employee deserves recognition and is rewarded appropriately. To reiterate, we have zero tolerance towards politics and strongly condemn discrimination in any form. Speaking of office timings, our work culture is one of freedom, and we trust our people to get their designated tasks completed in time. Therefore, as per our employee-first policies, we offer flexible work timings. Contrary to your claim, our employees are free to choose a clock-in-time/work window at their convenience, thereby enabling them to complete the standard number of hours per day or week when it suits them best. That said, we'd like to put forth a list of leaves we already offer – Earned Leave, Casual Leave, Sick Leave, Marriage Leave, Maternity/Paternity Leave, Bereavement Leave, Compensatory Leave, Unpaid Extended Leave, Birthday Leave and leaves on other Special Occasions. These leaves are on top of the regular public holidays, national days and gazetted holidays deemed mandatory by the government. During the pandemic, our leave policy was tailored to assist those affected by COVID-19, adapting as necessary from the first wave through the third. We constantly updated our approach to align with evolving health guidelines and the immediate needs of our workforce. We aimed to balance fairness with the requirements of our operations, ensuring support where it was most needed. As for your concern regarding our WFH policy, it is imperative to understand that our operational modalities require our employees to be at the office. That said, we do offer work-from-home arrangements in unprecedented events/situations such as the Covid-19 crisis. Speaking of politics, we have a zero-tolerance policy.
