Initially I enjoyed working in Meesho as there was lot of learning, following latest tech stack.

Over the past 6 months, I feel that Meesho has become a sinking ship, evident through multiple layoffs. Some individuals were them were requested to resign as they were placed under a performance improvement plan (PIP), while others were let go due to team restructuring. Unofficially, the number of affected employees is believed to more than 500. The organisation initially promoted work from anywhere policy, attracting many employees who trusted and joined the company. Where to start, ok, let me start with following 1. Nepotism (if you are a favorite to seniors then your job is safe) 2. Micro-manage (people will always look at you like you are the most imp person in the company, and they overlook your work) 3. Trust Issues (Architect, Manager don't trust on your work) 4. Work-Life balance is like you need to work on Recharge and reset days, weekends (production issues even if you are not on-call), Diwali, Holi, and Christmas, and there is no life only work if you are considering to join Meesho 5. The worst part is point number one seniors are very toxic. Nobody is going to help you here. Zero work life balance. I go to the office at 10:30 AM morning and I come at night 9 PM some regularly. That’s how the work culture is here and it’s very normal to work that that period of time plus you have to take your all your blames, so it’s not very good place to work for. Nothing, joining means reuining your carrier and CV, no training, no support from anybody, poor goodwill among sellers, Loss of pay (LOP) is common. It's a third party payroll.

They hire people on third party roll and treat them as labours, people working from 3-4years doesn't get any hike and manager says directly that don't expect hike every year and forcing people to put down papers by threatening them to put in PIP Such a toxic place to work!! Employees which hired on roll comes from IIT/IIM shows attitude as if they are running the world

Peer quality is great with some of the best minds from top bschools working with you. Although the quality has diluted recently but the old folks are really talented. Also, the company culture is good, leadership understands if the metrics don't move in the right direction given the fact, you put the complexity/challenge in an articulate manner for them to understand

Salaries and hikes are moving to an MNC band type structure. Also the mid management is not that supporting and growth can get stagnated.

Good for learning, getting responsibilities and doing work beyond your years of experience. Workload can vary according to teams and projects.

Dislikes

Very poor job security- teams get dissolved at will, people promoted in previous cycle asked to leave in the next cycle. Culture has drastically nosedived- all driven by whatever CEO says, no one in the leadership team has a voice. CEO has unrealistic expectations which no one can fulfil. All great leaders bar 1-2 have moved on in the last 2-3 years.
