I would appreciate the job security and work culture in this company. We almost continuously have projects which I would consider a very good indicator. Even though work satisfaction is subjective, I personally is very satisfied with my work.

Dislikes

Work life balance is taking a toll on the health for many engineers. There is definitely a change (not positive) in work culture due to management changes. Compensation is not at par with the prevailing rates (Partially due to company's financial condition)

Work Details

I am a Lead Engineer who have worked on diverse projects with different challenges. Overall I enjoy working with McDermott.

Work days: Monday to Friday (Flexible Timings)

Work related travel: This job involves International Travel.

Seeking advice on current job

Current Job Situation: I’ve been working at TCS for over 2.5 years, with a total experience of 4.5 years. My salary is 9.6 LPA, and I work with technologies like Casper framework, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JSP, Java, PL/SQL, and JBoss. While I have good job security and flexibility, I feel like I’m working with outdated technologies and have a lot of leisure time, which is affecting my motivation. Concerns: 1. Outdated Tech: I’m worried that working with older tech will limit future opportunities. Should I stay or move to a role with newer technologies? 2. Salary: Is my current package competitive for my experience? What salary should I aim for if I switch? Seeking Advice: What modern technologies should I learn to stay relevant?
