It's an independent Secretariat known for efficiency, integrity and promptitude of service.It is organised into 10 distinct services.The function of each service has its own special and distinct nature for which they're not freely interchangeable.But they are complementary and supplementary to each other.The staff of the Secretariatvery often put in n long hours of work. But there's is Welfare Department to look after and provide the boost up. Speaker,Lok Sabha is the all in all of the Secretariat.It's under his delegated authority to the Secretary General at the head ,various services and functional authorities discharge duties. It has a salary structure at par with Government of India with an additional Parliamentary Allowance which adds as a booster.In addition it has also a Lok Sabha Satellite Television Channel Unit relating to Look Sabha Television.The Secretariat has its own Recruitment and Conditions of Service Rules. The Rules of Government of India do not automatically apply to its employees.
