People are judging by old ratings and current ratings are given based on your last 3 months works during appraisal. There is no power for service department like quality,plant and machinery,safety,MEP. Transfer are mostly forcefully and at distant from you home city/state. Leave is not as per your convenience it's depends on your ISmood but leave is mandatory as per company rule. Working hour is 12 hours by mouth actually it's always more than that and Sunday is working day. You can take leave on other's day but Sunday is mandatory as the Project Manager thought the best productivity comes on Sunday only. In recent years company management has given way for lot of cheap politics where actual hard working talents go unnoticed if they are not a puppet to their superiors. Means even if u work harder all the efforts goes in vain at the time of appraisal. The superior decides it according to his own personal wish.

In L&T you get the Job security. Be it Detail Engg or Proposal, you will find a place.

The appraisal cycle, I personally feel they give preference to recommendation from the HOD and do not follow the standard procedure.
