I have been working at LLS for more than a decade now, ever since joining as a new law graduate. During my college days I interned with some IP firms in New Delhi, and I'm grateful that I finally got the opportunity to work at LLS. As a new Associate my knowledge was very limited. I was encouragingly guided by my Seniors and Partners both professionally and personally, which helped me to firmly establish myself as an Attorney. For hard work dedicated professionals the firm offers great remuneration and growth opportunities at all levels. High quality of work is demanded from the teams, which helps develop both the team and the individual. The work atmosphere is positive, professional and conducive to growth in a well-organized structure. There is no room for any politics, negativity etc. The Partners are extremely approachable and anyone can directly contact the Managing Partner, Mr. Rahul Chaudhry. While there is no pressure of billable targets, the firm is strict towards client satisfaction and meeting the deadline, earning it multiple awards from various consultancies, publications and many prestigious clients. The firm has unmitigated discipline in taking care of its people by ensuring timely paychecks, performance linked bonuses, promotion opportunities and ample leaves. The firm has a 5 day work week and offices are also available on other days, if required. The office provides good facilities such as modern work spaces, lunch cafeteria, pantry etc. There are frequent team building get-togethers outside the office. As a lateral hire, I can confidently say LLS is a great place to work. No politics, no unhealthy internal competition & no billing stress, that other IP firms unfortunately encourage. LLS attorneys take ownership of their matters & are given credit where due- both internally and at the client front. Attorneys at every level are given the same opportunities for work assigned & each department works as a team. Work is reviewed by department heads/partners at every stage, leading to value addition & impeccable work quality per LLS standards(which is high)- this surprisingly improves client response time since every matter is given high priority. Personal attention of partners including the Managing Partner Mr. Chaudhry, encourages attorneys to improve work output & growing team sizes result in a stress free environment.The high quantity & churn out of incoming work also leads to increase in efficiency, experience & knowledge of each attorney.There is smooth coordination between different departments(litigation/prosecution/opposition/internationalTM/searches/ patents)& offices due to which attorneys in one department are always aware of matters & working of other teams- no one is boxed into one type of work.Work hours are much better than other law firms & the office locations are very convenient.Bonus& appraisals are given every financial year on time without fail &monthly salary is also received on the 1st of every month- financial reliability from a law firm is rare in this city. 2 weeks paid annual leave & 1 monthly leave are taken by attorneys without any leave approval doubts whatsoever.Beyond that although salary is deducted for extra leaves,I don't know anyone who has been refused leave till date in my experience.The seniors are very approachable, accommodating of requests and genuinely concerned of the well-being of team members. LLS does not rely on its brand name for work. It focuses solely on work which speaks for itself. However the management and teams have both experience and youth on their side, so the way ahead looks exciting.

I have been working at LLS for over 11 years and this is the most rewarding, challenging and exciting time in my career. I started as an associate with the firm and have been in several different position over these years. I have had the chance to grow as a lawyer since I was given all possible support and guidance that a young lawyer needs. Additionally, very early on I was trusted to handle my matters independently and all of this, along with the tremendously fulling environment have helped me immensely in my career. LLS provided me with a team of seniors who are leaders in the field of IP Law and as a new lawyer, I was able to gain insights into the workings of the field of law through their work. Good clientele so good exposure to matters. One is grilled so much so that can easily work at any other place. Brand name of the firm is good among IP boutique firms. Good exposure to courts, copyright/Trade mark offices.

1. Juniors are not valued and don't have the liberty to express their opinions. 2. No digitisation of files, one has to read through bulky untidy files. 3. No work-life balance. Juniors keep sitting back late waiting for approvals & no option to send out an email from home in the case only approvals are pending. 4. People usually leave in 1-3 yrs and there's usually a vacancy in Delhi office. 5. Sticking to previous drafts and opinions, not encouraging new ideas. 6. If one avails more than a leave in a month, salary is deducted even if it could be due to severe health problems, no concept of aggregate leaves except one time annual leave. Not encouraged to avail even authorised leaves. 7. No concern for the safety of female employees if have to leave office very late due to work. 8. No credit leave granted even if one works the entire weekend. 9. Bonus & increments are totally discretionary without any interview at end of year...Read More

Very good clientele and matters thus exposure and training in work is very good. Seniors grill you so much so that one can easily survive at any other place after switching job. Good exposure to courts and trademark / copyright office.

Dislikes

H-Politics. New people don't stick long to the firm and there's always a vacancy in Delhi office. Very late approvals on the work submitted before hand which makes one sit in the office till late despite one would have worked diligently and no one bothers about the security of an employee when they leave office very late. Availing more than 1 leave per month attracts pay deduction. Firm doesn't provide you one set of leaves that can be availed as per the situation like most of the office in the world. The more & longer you work, the better - quality of work is secondary and smart work has lesser recognition. Long sitting hours beyond official time definately pay well & help in getting promotions. No provision to work from home because of which lawyers have to sit back late. No digitisation of files in today's era and one has to read through bulky files and documents unavail.
