It is good for a fresher , they can learn many things and can build base for PhD especially through recommendation letters from scientists. As most of the job vacancies are project based , the tenure ends maximum by 3 years. Depending on department and funding agencies for project the salaries are sometimes irregular. If you are hired as a contractual staff , you do not have any benefits not even earned leaves (EL) there are only CLs which as 2 leaves/ quarter as well as contractual positions are not entitled for annual increment , hence the salary is stagnant....Read More

Technical officers mostly do the desk job with respect to preparation of reports or reviewing or the analysis of the studies conducted.

Good for government employees. Learning new skills and self growth is supported. Staff is kind and supportive.

Dislikes

staff working on projects will always suffer to get salary on time and less job security
