1- The projects are good as they help one to develop new skills. They enable the SMEs to use their learning and get the work done.
2- The best thing about this place is my TL who's understanding and supportive.
3- The salary is given on time without any unnecessary deductions.
Dislikes
1- Work-life balance doesn't exist. Employees are judged by the sacrifices they make and their leaves for personal events, festivals and family time are considered as distractions. They feel no shame in asking an employee to work on Holi, Independence day, Good friday or Rakshabandhan. Also, there's hardly a day in a year when I leave on time. Most of the times, we're working for 12 hrs and even 15-16 hours for closing the set projects. When you ask for extra day or to extend the ETA, they simply say- you can work till midnight to submit this XYZ task.
2- Work satisfaction- Being a QA, I prioritize quality over quantity. However, they ask me to complete the target even if the quality of the content is not meeting the expectations.
3- Promotions- A big NO! They believe in dry promotions, which according to me is to ask an SME to work as a QA at the salary of an SME. It becomes hectic and overburdening over time and people quit. I didn't receive a promotion until I asked for it.
4- They often set bogus targets and unimaginable deadlines. No incentives are given in offline projects even if you achieve more than 100% target or work for extra days to meet the deadlines. Instead, they'll assign you more work.
5- Appreciations are hard to get. Even if you receive a positive feedback for your work, the seniors won't praise you. They just behave as if nothing has happened. In contrast, if you commit a mistake or got a negative feedback, they'll connect immediately to ask the reason and make you provide a valid written explanation. I believe appreciations are equally important for the employees. Its the only thing, apart from the salary, that keeps them going.
6- No interactions are being made between the team or with the seniors, unless its work related. I believe a casual connect for 20-30 mins once in a month or two helps the members know each other in WFH mode....Read More
