Job security: Dell recently layed off more than 12000 employees and may cut down more head count so it's job security is a major issue. Salary: Salary is little below market standards. Appraisal/promotion : Once you reach to principal engineer position, promotion seems like an alien concept because 1 in around 30-40 principal engineer gets promoted to Sr principal level that too after ATLEAST after 10-12 years working as a principal engineer. Skill development/Learning : NO Scope whatsoever for new learning. Most of people who left there jobs recently were due to lack of opportunities to learn new skills and were bored/tired of working on the same things for years. So if you have a hunger to learn new things, Dell is certainly NOT a place for you. Work satisfaction: As mentioned above there is no scope for new skill development and learning, people get sick of working on the same things and in turn are not satisfied with their work....Read More

Dislikes

Managers are bit relaxed and don't want to own the things as they should. Too much of relaxation to employees turns into employees taking disadvantages.
