Most of the core values of COWI are good but the one thing that stands out as the best about this company is the work life balance

Inexperienced Head of section(HOS) in Industry and energy department ,who doesn't have the needed O&G technical knowledge nor does he know how to improve the team's or an individual competency. Discriminate employees on a personal level. No job satisfaction. Don't fall for the posted JD before joining here. Most of the jobs or task here are of low level drafting. Stay away if you are expecting some Detail engineering jobs here or have ambition to grow professionally in O&G domain. You may have to work in other departments jobs also like civil,tunnels etc. Infact you might have to get involve in Civil 3D projects here for which they would always need 2 persons to work on.These projects are mostly Drafting jobs for GIS projects which are being push into I&E department from Denmark and if you dare to express your dissatisfaction regarding this to your HOS,he would tell you this is a pipeline project and every big Oil and gas companies like flour etc does this and finally you have to agree with disagreement even though it's clearly a GIS and civil work. Increment or appraisal are OK upto some extent. Not that bad nor too good. Lesser scope of getting technical or relevant training. Instead of improving ones technical skills, as discussed in one to one PDP meetings, the HOS will mostly emphasize on softskill training like excel, how to Work from home efficiently etc. Industry and energy department is one of the worst department for skill and career development because of these kind of baised decision making processes by the HOS as he Discriminate employees on a personal level rather than on a professional one. Lastly, I believe that if not all but most of the management persons in gurgaon office are very good politician as they gave WFH for first 4-5 months starting from March with some very questionable guidelines of their own and afterwards very cunningly forced everyone to work from office from the month of August (year 2020 and 2021) during this pandemic....Read More
