Yes, they are still paying salary to even temporary and contractual staff in this tough time. Being construction engineer, you will be exposed to many new site challenges and activities. You will have to face client, consultant and management pressure at once. All projects are challenging to execute due low quoted rates to grab theproject tender & job. No innovations and new business. Majorly depends upon construction sites. B&R has huge workshop in howrah but no big scale business taken up at workshop. No new technology machines adopted. Still conventional way of working. No centralized planning dept not quality departments. Even if exists only for name sake. It has got lot of potential but due to internal politics no improvement in industry.
