Company culture and pay is great, few onshore colleagues are awesome and empathetic

Dislikes

Worst can happen if you are placed in horizontal teams. You can suffer if you are not getting into vertical teams Horizontal teams have the highest attrition and worse work life balance. Make sure you get the clarity of team you are joining in your last round of discussion.

While some teams have really supportive culture, verticals like TA is filled with managers who have become managers because they have been in the company since it's inception. Salary is less than competitive, specially since the focus is on hiring expats. Work pressure is enormous. The culture you experience will depend purely on your team & manager. I have had both amazing and the worst experience in my tenure there. I used to like working here but not anymore since the 'numbers' management moved in.

Dislikes

Horrible work culture. Extreme micromanagement. Management whom does not want to listen. Company that victimize their own staff for the sake of saving on bonus payments. Zero possibility of promotion .

Employee quality - All employees are from tier 3 and below universities that you'll never have heard of, who joined Agoda because they couldn't clear an interview in any of the top tier companies. No skill or creativity. Not meant for people from top tier universities or companies. You'll feel lost if you've worked with big organizat ions in the past. Politics - This trumps all other aspects of work. You'll be encouraged by your manager to "put down the opposition". Too many meetings - and often pointless. It's more of a platform for people to blame each other than do something constructive. Rigid work ethic - They'd rather see the world burn than change for the better.
