Calculation of mortar quantity

  • Mortar quantity is calculated based on the volume of bricks or blocks being used.

  • The ratio of cement, sand, and water in the mortar mix is also important.

  • The standard ratio for mortar mix is 1:4 (cement:sand).

  • The water-cement ratio should be around 0.5.

  • The quantity of mortar required can be calculated using the formula: Volume of bricks/blocks x 0.0015.

  • This formula assumes a mortar joint thickness of 10mm.
