In terms of your resignation letter, the only details that needs to be included are a) A clear sentence stating that you are resigning your appointment or ending your contract b) The last date you’ll be at work What I would always suggest is not to be negative on your resignation letter. Regardless of the strength of your feelings about the work environment, the best approach is to keep it simple.

If you’re resigning because of the toxic workplace I’m assuming you have no interest in trying to fix it If you’re resigning and already have a new job, just write Thank you for the time here, I’m leaving for a better opportunity and a less toxic environment to pursue my dreams. There is nothing to be gained by being spiteful or snide etc. the few seconds of joy you get from saying .Just prove to them that if there is a toxic environment there, you were probably part of it.

Regardless how toxic a workplace is, always leave on a positive note. Write your letter, saying that you’ve enjoyed your work and appreciate that they gave you opportunity to work for them. However, you feel its time to seek out new adventures (however you wish to say it). Wish them well. And thank you again. Be positive because you don’t want the toxicity to follow you out the door. You write a positive letter because they will be more willing to be a good reference on your next job resume. And just in case a new job doesn’t work out, should you find yourself back on their doorstep, they’ll be more willing to hire you back. Hopefully you won’t need that. Good luck. :)
