The Struggle of Small Town corporate employees in Metro cities is real!
They leave their homes, friends and family behind,
All in the hope of,
- Better salary
- Better profile
- Better opportunity
- Better infrastructure
Instead what they get is,
- Pollution
- Stressful jobs
- Unaffordable rents
- Chaotic environments
- Hours of time wasted in commute
- Little savings to no savings
Unless someone is earning far higher, allowing them to save a sizeable % of their income, the entire reason to move to a metro doesn't make any sense.
Being a person coming from Patna who's working in Delhi currently, I can vouch that all these things are true.
Which makes me wonder,
Why aren't we allowing jobs that can be done remotely, to be done remotely?
It'll save us a lot of resources, both physical and financial!
We need to have more conversations around this!

Buddy I agree with you bcoz leaving home for a better life only to find stress, pollution and little savings feels like a trap sometimes and we really need to have a conversation

Job Offer Dilemma
I’m in a situation and need some guidance.I have a job offer with:CTC: 9.4 LPA fixed + 21% variable = 11.4 LPA total.Location: Chennai (not ideal for me).Another opportunity is in the pipeline, with a more suitable location, but the expected CTC is around 9.4 LPA, which is significantly lower than the first offer. To add to the dilemma, the HR of the second company feels that asking for 12 LPA (considering my 9.4 LPA fixed offer) is too high. How would you approach this decision? Should I Take the Risk?
I have a crush on a coworker who's higher up and earns more😅We work in different departments, and while she is two years younger than me, she belongs to a higher pay grade of employees who earn almost twice as much as I do, although we do almost similar work. Do you have any tips on how to approach her without making things awkward?
