Hello all, I am a product design engineer working on third-party payroll. I want to switch to software and am interested in Windchill customization and development. I am confused about how I will sustain myself if I switch domains, and I am looking for courses, but they are expensive. Please advise: should I continue my mechanical design engineering job or switch to Windchill development?

You could start with some free online resources (YouTube, freeCodeCamp, etc.) and gradually build up your skills. Once you’re comfortable, maybe apply for internships or freelance gigs in Windchill development to bridge the gap while working on the side.

@cleantonic Yar, IMO Continue with your product design job while you upskill yourself in Windchill development part-time. This way, you can ease into the transition without risking your current financial stability. Once you’ve gained enough skills and confidence, you could then consider switching full-time.
Also, look for Windchill-related projects, communities, or freelancing opportunities to gain practical experience without necessarily investing heavily in expensive courses. Sometimes, hands-on experience can be just as valuable.
