Is the Job Market Really This Tough?
Got laid off 3 weeks ago and have been grinding through interviews since. I’ve already faced 9 companies, most of which threw curveball questions or outdated tech ones.
I did manage to clear the first round at two MNCs, but the HRs are playing the waiting game. Not sure if they're ghosting me or what.
With so many people applying and companies having endless choices, it feels like the job market is getting tougher by the day.
How many interviews did it take you to land your last job?

Don't count.
If you aren’t going to post "X numbers till the Yes" on Platforms, please don’t count.
It will disturb your brain and morale.
Give it your all, you will get that Yes sooner.

20 days is nothing tbh. People here have been searching for months and years. Consider yourself lucky you aren't being ghosted outright and that you are at least getting replies and call backs.

Do not count interviews. Job market is not tough its uncertain, companies are not getting long term projects hence hiring plans are not firm. However jobs are existed keep trying average time to get the job after laid off is between 40 to 90 days.

You're absolutely right, the job market can be incredibly tough, especially when dealing with unexpected layoffs. For my last job, I went through around 10-12 interviews. It was a long and exhausting process, but persistence paid off.
