Increment discussion with HR
I recently got the promotion from Software Engineer-II to III but salary is not discussed yet as it will be discussed at the end of this month. I have profited my client in 2024 and my company knows about it. But I got to know they are only giving hike of maximum 15% and I am expecting the hike to be atleast between 20-25%. How can I negotiate with keeping in mind the work I did last year

Make sure to mention how this contribution aligns with your promotion, too. You could also bring up industry salary benchmarks for someone in your new role with your level of performance. It’s all about showing that your value exceeds what they’ve budgeted.
