How to Get My Diwali Leaves Approved
I am planning to take leave during Diwali weekend (October 29-3 Nov.) to go to my hometown. Unfortunately, three other colleagues have also requested leave for those days. I am the newest member of the team and I am concerned that my request may not be approved.đ
I would like to know if I should write a formal letter to my boss or HR requesting leave. I am worried that this may seem like I am going behind my colleagues' backs. I need a strong reason to support my request that they cannot ignore.

Ask for WFH and tell them that the return ticket is costlier/not available for the next 2 days and enjoy.

Write to your HR/Manager and get it approved ASAP. If you let go now, you will be the sacrificial goat all the time.

Explain any personal or family reasons that make it particularly important for you to be home during Diwali.
