Falling for False Promises: My Career Detour After EC Engineering
Hi, I need career advice. I graduated with a degree in EC Engineering but didn’t want to settle in the south as my hometown is in the north, and I want to stay close to my parents. Unfortunately, the placement offers during my graduation year weren’t great as no big companies visited for recruitment. 😓
Moreover, I realized in my final year that EC Engineering wasn’t where my interest lay, which is why I decided to shift my field.
Later, I joined a Digital Vidya course because it was highly talked about, and digital marketing seemed promising. They charged a fee of ₹60,000 and promised excellent placements. However, after completing the course, all I got were offers with packages of ₹15,000 per month, and they were hyping small, single-room companies. It felt like a complete scam.
Now, I’ve decided to shift my career path again and aim to join a reputed company. But don’t you think companies like Digital Vidya misled us with false promises about placements?

Wait, ₹15K? Didn’t they say something about "big placements"? I remember their ads being all over the place, promising dream jobs!

A Marketing Manager
This sounds like a classic case of misleading marketing. Unfortunately, a lot of these “skill-based” courses oversell their placement assistance.

Don’t be too hard on yourself. These companies are pros at making it look legit. The important thing is that you’re shifting gears now.
