Employer switch or not, confused 😟
Hello Folks,
Needed some advise.
YOE 12 years. I am working as Program Manager in a manufacturing industry (R&D) in Bangalore. Current CTC 19.8LPA. Got an offer CTC of 34.1LPA. Offered company is a start up in India. Offered designation is Project Manager. After putting up my resignation, my skip level manager is trying to convince me to stay.
Bit of confused what to do as offered company is kind of a start up.
Any advise would be helpful on offered package is worth or not and would it be worth to take the risk.

The jump from 19.8 LPA to 34.1 LPA is significant, but since it’s a startup, do assess the risk factors like funding, future plans, and role clarity. If the startup offers equity, it could be a great long-term move.

Staying or switching depends on your priorities. If you value stability, staying in your current role could be better. If you’re okay with calculated risks and are excited about new challenges, the startup might be worth considering.

34.1 LPA sounds amazing, but think about this: stability vs risk. If you’re feeling adventurous, the startup is calling! If not, see if your current company can match the offer or offer something comparable.

Startup life can be a roller coaster. If you’re okay with the ups and downs and want that big salary boost, give it a shot. Otherwise, let your skip-level manager prove why you should stay.

witching to a startup could be a great career move if the company has good backing and growth potential. But if you’re someone who prefers stability over adventure, staying might be better.

Think about your 5-year plan. Does the startup align with it? The salary bump is tempting, but career trajectory and role satisfaction matter more in the long run.

If the startup fails, at least you’ll have a cool story to tell at parties: 'I was part of a disruptive startup.
