No real authority. Only responsibility. No final say. But full blame. You’re in 7 calls a day explaining why something is delayed, without being the one who’s building or designing it. Mental gymnastics + political survival + feature prioritisation = one confused brain.

I'm holding offer from Boeing, Citi and Ford which one should I choose? My priority is work life balance and job security at some point.
Boeing - 35LPA Team Lead
Citi - 33.5 LPA Sr. Software Engineer
Ford - 37LPA Team Lead

Career Growth

I worked in a company for 20 years and suddenly put off role. Searching jobs I realised I am over age for various roles that I could do and less experienced for Leadership Roles as my exposure was limited. I always thought I am earning decent money and can work another 7 years and retire at 50. Though the younger generation is much smarter I still want to advise them (BFSI specific)
* Work in a role for max 2-3 years and switch when you feel you are done.
* By age of 30, if you are still earning less than 10 lakh you are not growing 
* By age of 35 you must become AVP as no company will hire AVP if you are more than 36.
*Be loyal to your self, not your organization. 
* Most importantly save atleast 30% or more of whatever your CTC. Donot spend much with every raise. 
* Buy a property, and pay loans before 35.

In tough times it's only Savings that give you cushion and peace nothing else

After Narayana Murthy’s earlier comment encouraging young professionals to work 70 hours a week Infosys is now reportedly nudging remote employees to stick to a standard 9 to 5 (or 9 to 6) schedule, 5 days a week to “promote work-life balance.”

Not just that  they’re even sending personalised emails to employees who regularly go beyond these hours, with details on remote work days , total hours logged, Avg daily hours even suggestions for breaks & discussions with managers 

Sudden switch or realisation?

Either way m honestly happy to see conversations around healthy working hours finally being taken seriously by big IT players.

What’s your take on this shift? genuine concern for employee wellbeing or just cleaning up the WLB image?

From 70-hour weeks to WLB? Infosys doing a 180°?

One of our colleagues was so enraged because our manager was forcing the employee to work a rotational shift and making him work hard.
We can all see he was too hard on him, but we thought it was part of work and our manager's behavior with everyone....... 
That person went so much into rage that he poisoned extra caffeine in our manager's coffee. He is old, suddenly collapsed after one drink, the blood pressure shooted but after drinking water, he got normal.............. That's what they call the taste of his own blood. Also, a colleague left the job after all this drama.

is it what managers want now? Waiting to get poisoned?
