Chegg (An online education platform) lost 95% of its stock valuation!

Why? Students who used to get homework help from Chegg can now get it for free with ChatGPT. I believe the EdTech downfall has started. Will you consider joining an EdTech at this point?

Go to ChatGPT and type "Explain to a 6 year old using some simple metaphors". After the first response, type "Now go a little deeper by building upon this, as if you're explaining it to a 12 year old." And finally, ask it to delve deeper to explain this to a 20 year old who has no background of this. See how well it is able to explain and cement your understanding of a technical concept.

It's too early to say if this is the start of a major EdTech downfall. While some EdTech companies may struggle, others may adapt and innovate with new technologies like AI.

In India, EdTechs are hard to make successful given the tuition culture we already have in place. So, personally, I won't join an edtech unless they have a foreign user base that's not as price-sensitive.
