A Middle-Class Perspective on the Rat Race!
I've been noticing a lot of posts about people making tons of money and having huge net worths. It's made me think about my situation.
My parents always told me that having a roof over my head, food to eat, and no debt was a big deal. I believed them, but now I see some people doing much better.
I've worked hard, but saving up a decent amount of money has taken me a long time. I'm still nowhere near as wealthy as some people I know.
Getting caught up in the rat race and comparing yourself to others is easy. But I try to remember that everyone's situation is different.
I'm grateful for what I have, and I'm going to keep working hard. Maybe one day I'll be able to retire early and live a comfortable life.

I don't see them above me. I always see them below me. The benchmark is treating them right, because they cannot give much to you in return, or anything at all
Taught me humility. And frankly, I share your parent's thought. Three meals a day, a paid off house, and no debt is a privilege to majority of the country. So treat it as one.
Yes, I learnt the lesson much much later, but it's a good lesson to learn. Comparison is the enemy of peace.

That paid off house is where most people are running around to the point prime years of young life goes down in EMI.
I have interacted with people who are barely living on paycheck also there are people who are on spree to buy there 3rd property back to back with high pay.
The race should be self actually. Like the last part says the person increased salary to extent that he was able to get the EMIs paid so early that they went on next EMI property.
These examples are not of those with generational wealth but self made from middle class to achieving HNIs now.

Your parents are right about being privileged . I don’t see people at 25 earning crores per annum (I studied in premium institutes) unless they are working in the US specifically in Tech . Comparison is the thief of joy.

Times have changed. Our parents had simpler lives, but today's generation often focuses on materialistic things and social status. Many people retire early by carefully managing their finances. Am i right ?

Toxic Work Environment
Hi Everyone.I recently joined a company to grow, but the work environment is toxic. It's just 20 days. The manager is rude, doesn’t guide, and gets angry when I ask questions. They rely on Excel for tasks instead of proper tools like Jira, and tasks lack clear details. Many seniors have quit, and the team is disorganized. HR couldn’t help, and the stress is affecting my mental health. Should I stay or resign? Will leaving early harm my career? If I stay, how can I manage this without losing my p...
