A Difficult but Necessary Choice!

It's heartbreaking to see a loved one struggle financially. For the past four years, my uncle has increasingly turned to me for loans, and the frequency of his requests has grown steadily. I've always been generous, lending him money whenever he's needed and never asking for repayment. However, the total amount he currently owes me, around 87k, is equivalent to three months of my savings. This is a substantial sum that I can't afford to lose, especially as I've been diligently saving for my family's future. Today, when he asked for another loan, I had to say no. It was a difficult decision, filled with guilt and sadness. I know he's facing a tough time, but I must put my family's needs first. I've worked hard and saved a good amount I want to invest most of it and build a better future for my family.

Stop this habit of lending. Ask them to go to bank for loans.

This becomes a bit difficult to say to them. Will try to decline them at least.

If you stop lending, he will stop asking. It's difficult but you have to do it. Stop enabling him. I got a good raise this month Don't let anyone else outside your family know this

OMG stop lending money! That's crazy!!! And now it's time for you to ask them for money. Ask for small amounts of 1k-2k etc. And watch their reaction. It will make you feel good about yourself. Whenever they call and ask you for money. Do a reverse Uno on them and tell them that you actually wanted to call them for the last X number of days but you were feeling bad. Ask them if they can let you borrow 1k from whatever amount they are looking to get. Call them the next day and ask them if they got any money. Play the fool/s. And you gotta act broke at times too. You had some expenses like personal Health insurance (even if you don't have your own). You just lent your friend with 20k two days ago. Etc etc.

How do you plan to have a heart-to-heart conversation with your uncle about your financial limitations, without hurting his feelings ?
