Purchase Executive

Role & responsibilities

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Purchase Executive to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a B. Pharm / M. Pharm degree with a strong background in procurement, especially within the pharmaceutical industry. The role demands expertise in sourcing, procurement, and vendor management, with a particular focus on engineering equipment, spare parts, and utilities used in pharmaceutical formulation plants.

What do you do:

• Procurement Management: Identify, source, and procure essential engineering equipment, spare parts, and utilities such as HVAC, Boilers, Compressors, WFI, and Purified Water Systems.
• Vendor Relations: Evaluate and negotiate supplier quotations, finalize procurement contracts, and maintain long-term vendor relationships in alignment with company policies and industry regulations.
• Supply Chain Optimization: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely procurement, smooth delivery, and installation of equipment to minimize production downtime.
• Compliance and Regulatory Adherence: Ensure all procurement activities comply with cGMP, USFDA, WHO, EU-GMP, and other regulatory standards.
• Contract and Supplier Management: Develop and manage vendor agreements, conduct supplier audits and evaluate performance to ensure consistent quality and reliability.
• Cost Optimization: Implement strategies for cost reduction while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance.
• Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels of critical spare parts and ensure effective inventory management to support uninterrupted production.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare and maintain procurement documentation, including Purchase Orders (POs), supplier agreements, invoices, and compliance reports.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality Assurance, and Finance teams to understand equipment requirements and procurement needs.

Preferred candidate profile

• Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical formulation equipment, spare parts, and utilities.
• Procurement Expertise: Solid experience in procurement processes, vendor negotiations, and contract management within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Regulatory Compliance: Strong understanding of industry regulations, including cGMP, USFDA, WHO, and EU-GMP.
• Documentation Skills: High proficiency in maintaining accurate records and preparing detailed reports.
• Communication Skills: Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to work independently, proactively address issues, and take ownership of procurement tasks.
• Work Ethic: Strong professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality in handling sensitive procurement information.
