- Ensure timely sourcing and procurement of materials to meet production and new product launch schedules.
Cost and Contract Management:
- Maintain updated databases for financial tracking, pricing, and terms influencing costs and supply stability.
- Negotiate supplier contracts quarterly, including terms like lead times, minimum order quantities (MOQ), and non-cancelable/non-returnable (NCNR) clauses.
- Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities with cross-functional teams through alternate sourcing and value engineering.
- Resolve payment and delivery issues to ensure timely supplier payments.
- Use cost analysis techniques to negotiate favorable pricing.
- Benchmark suppliers for competitive pricing.
Supply Management:
- Plan supplier capacities for long-term supply stability.
- Monitor purchase orders and shipment statuses to avoid production disruptions or overstocking.
- Collaborate with suppliers to maintain optimal inventory levels, avoiding shortages or excess.
- Manage quality issues and minimize their impact on production and costs.
Strategy Development:
- Use market intelligence to optimize cost and ensure supply availability while mitigating risks.
- Select and onboard new suppliers, conduct audits, and assess supply chain risks.
- Create long-term commodity strategies and preferred supplier lists (PSL).
- Develop strong supplier relationships for sustainable business support.
- Provide sourcing guidance for new product introductions (NPI).
- Reduce dependency on single countries by diversifying suppliers.
Process Improvement:
- Standardize procurement processes and document them.
- Support digitization and process improvement initiatives.
- Provide reports and data to leadership on procurement activities and outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics preferred), with 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience: Proven expertise in sourcing electrical/electronic components and working with global suppliers. Tactical procurement and knowledge of foundries/FABs are a plus.
Skills:
Strong problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
Expertise in cost analysis and supplier relationship management.
Proficiency in software tools (MS Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems).
Ability to handle fast-paced environments with frequent changes.
Certifications: APICS, CPM, or similar certifications are beneficial.
Key Commodities: Electronics (relays, LEDs, filters) and electrical components (transformers, connectors, power supplies).
